Ryan Marshall

I try and approach each shoot as lean as possible, working with small teams that know how to collaborate, but more importantly not letting gear and process dictate every moment. The less impact I have on the space around me, the better chance I have at getting to the heart of the subject, the easier it is for me to disappear and let people emerge and breathe easy in front of the camera. One of the greatest feelings is when you can actually see a person let go, their muscles relax, their face softens, and they shine.

“My entire life I have always wanted to be a story-teller.

I make video for: Redken, Pureology, Disney, Gap, Chronicle Books, Artisan, Random House, American Salon, Abrams, Little Brown, Storey Publishing, and my favorite client— my family.”
